Research Intern (LLMs)
IRG_M3S_T3I_2025_018
Job Description
We are seeking highly motivated and talented research engineer interns interested in advancing the state of the art in resource-efficient machine learning at SMART in the program: Mens, Manus, and Machina: How AI empowers people and the city in Singapore (M3S).
With the recent emergence of large language models (LLMs), research engineer interns will assist researchers in investigating how to apply resource-efficient methods in the context of LLMs, among other applications. We are interested in, but not limited to, methods such as AutoML, Bayesian optimization, neural architecture search, reinforcement learning, meta-learning, and active learning, with their applications to LLMs.
Responsibilities
- Research topics related to data-efficient machine learning and investigate how these concepts and important issues are related to LLMs.
- Be hands-on to develop, implement algorithms, and evaluate experiments to characterize the feasibility and performance of the proposed research ideas.
- Collaborate with other research staff and students to publish research results in top-tier conferences and journals, focusing on venues associated with the above-mentioned areas.
