Project Overview
The Antimicrobial Resistance Interdisciplinary Research Group (AMR IRG) of the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology Centre is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate in the area of microfluidics engineering and their application to biosensing.
Responsibilities
Under the co-supervision of Prof. Jongyoon Han (MIT / SMART) and Prof. Han Wei Hou (NTU) the successful candidate will be focusing on profiling low-abundance pathogens in biofluids. The primary role of the position will be developing new devices for enriching pathogens from patient-derived samples, and carrying out various genetic and phenotypic analysis, including MinION nanopore sequencing.
Requirements
The successful candidate should
- hold a Ph.D. degree in the area of Bioengineering / Bioscience.
- have excellent track record in one or more of the following areas: microfluidics, molecular biology, and microbiology from a reputable university.
- possess excellent communication skills to enable close collaboration with clinical and biological researchers.
- possess excellent technical and organizational skills as well as the ability to work with other members of the team.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
