Project Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Intern with a strong background in control systems and mathematical modeling to join our team in advancing the field of soft robotics. This internship provides an exciting opportunity to work on the design, development, and implementation of advanced control strategies for innovative soft robotic actuators. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with our research team, contributing to the creation of control algorithms and models that enhance the performance and adaptability of soft robotic systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop control strategies and algorithms for soft robotic actuators to achieve precise and adaptive performance.
- Create mathematical models of actuator dynamics to simulate and predict system behavior under various conditions.
- Work closely with the design team to integrate control systems into the mechanical and electrical architecture of soft robotic actuators.
- Conduct experiments to validate control algorithms, refine models, and optimize actuator performance based on experimental data.
- Collaborate on the implementation of sensory feedback systems to enhance the control of actuators in real-time applications.
- Participate in technical discussions, brainstorming sessions, and project meetings to contribute innovative ideas and solutions.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong foundation in control systems, mathematical modeling, and system dynamics.
- Experience with programming and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, Python) for developing control algorithms and models.
- Familiarity with mechatronics and basic understanding of soft robotic mechanisms is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and creativity in developing control solutions for complex systems.
- Experience with sensors, feedback control, and real-time implementation is an advantage.
